Licence Types per Aircraft Type
Some pilots hold licences issued by different regulatory authorities for different aircraft types. Leon supports this by allowing a specific Licence type to be assigned to individual aircraft type in a pilot's profile.
Setting Up Licence Types in Ratings
Default Licence Type
The Licence type configured in the user's profile under Ratings → Certificates section serves as the default licence type. It applies to all aircraft type ratings unless a different licence type is explicitly set for particular type.
Per-Rating Licence Type Override
In the Ratings section of the user profile, each aircraft type rating row includes an additonal Licence type column.
If set as Default, the system uses the default licence type specified under Certificates section.
If a particular licence type is selected, it overrides the default for that specific aircraft type.
Example:
Aircraft Type | Ratings | Licence Type |
|---|---|---|
G650 | PIC | FAA (selected) |
GLEX | PIC | EASA (selected) |
B737 | SIC | Default |
Certificates & Currencies Validation
This setting also affects certificate and crew currency validation: on aggregate views (Crew → Qualifications → Certificates and Reports → Crew → Crew Currency), Leon validates against all licence types configured for the pilot, while in OPS → Crew on a specific flight, validation uses the licence type assigned to that aircraft type, or the default if none is set.
