Scope - Trips

Overview

The Trips scope covers trips — groups of flights sold together and operated as a single commercial journey for a client. Where the Flights scope returns individual flight legs, this scope returns one record per trip, aggregating data across all legs within that trip. Each record captures the trip as a whole: its route, timing, aircraft, client, commercial details, and aggregated operational data such as total block time, fuel consumption, and passenger counts.

This scope is especially useful for commercial and sales analysis — understanding revenue per trip, tracking client bookings, monitoring trip-level operational performance, and producing invoicing or quotation summaries. It is the primary scope for any report where the unit of interest is a complete sold journey rather than an individual flight leg.

What reports can you build with this scope?

Examples of typical reports operators build with this scope:

Monthly trip summary by aircraft — overview of all trips flown per aircraft in a given period
Client trip history — list of trips associated with a specific client, with route and timing details
Invoiced vs. uninvoiced trips — identify trips that have or have not yet been invoiced
Trip fuel consumption summary — aggregated fuel used and fuel uplift across all legs of each trip
Block time and flight time comparison — compare quoted, planned, and Journey Log block/flight times per trip
