Scope - Reservation

Scope - Reservation

Overview

The Reservation scope covers aircraft reservations — periods of time when an aircraft is blocked for non-operational purposes such as scheduled maintenance, owner use, crew training ground events, or any other activity that makes the aircraft unavailable for regular flight operations. Each reservation record represents a discrete time block assigned to a specific aircraft, optionally linked to a client and an airport.

Operators use this scope to track and report on how aircraft time is allocated outside of flight operations. Reports built from this scope help fleet managers understand aircraft availability gaps, audit reservation activity by type or client, and cross-reference reservations with operational schedules.

What reports can you build with this scope?

Examples of typical reports operators build with this scope:

  • Aircraft downtime summary — list all reservations per aircraft within a date range to understand how much time each aircraft was blocked

  • Reservation activity by type — group reservations by name/type to see which categories (e.g. maintenance, owner use) account for the most blocked time

  • Client-linked reservations — report reservations associated with specific clients to support billing or contractual reporting

  • Airport-based reservation overview — filter by airport to see which locations have the most reservation activity

  • Reservations with attached notes or files — identify reservations that carry additional documentation for audit or handover purposes
