Scope - Endorsement

Overview

The Endorsement scope covers certification and qualification records for crew members — including type ratings, licenses, medical certificates, and any other endorsements tracked in Leon. Each record represents a single endorsement held by a crew member, along with its issue date, expiry date, and associated aircraft or position type where applicable.

Operators use this scope to monitor crew qualification status, track upcoming certificate expirations, and produce compliance reports required by regulators or clients. It is especially useful for ensuring that all active crew members hold valid, current endorsements before being rostered on flights.

What reports can you build with this scope?

Examples of typical reports operators build with this scope:

Expiring certificates report — list of endorsements expiring within the next 30, 60, or 90 days
Crew qualification matrix — overview of which crew members hold which type ratings or certificates
Mandatory endorsement compliance — check which crew members are missing required certificates
Certificate group summary — breakdown of endorsements by group (e.g. medical, type rating, recurrent training)
AOC-specific qualification report — crew qualifications filtered by allowed Air Operator Certificate (AOC)

Filters let you narrow down the data to the specific subset you need — by date range, crew member, certificate type, and more.

Allowed AOC	Filter by the Air Operator Certificate(s) the endorsement is valid for
Crew label	Filter crew members by assigned label
Mandatory	Show only mandatory endorsements, non-mandatory ones, or both
Trip type	Filter endorsements associated with crew members of a specific trip type
Rating aircraft type	Filter by aircraft type associated with a type rating endorsement
Rating position type	Filter by crew position type associated with a type rating (e.g. Captain, First Officer)
Certificate aircraft type	Filter by aircraft type linked to the certificate
Certificate position type	Filter by crew position type linked to the certificate
Expired	Show only expired endorsements, only valid ones, or both
Never expires	Show only endorsements that never expire, or only those that do
